What are Hypopressives?

Hypopressive treatment was developed in Belgium in the 1980s and is in use across Europe. It is a series of simple exercises which can be performed at home with benefits including:

  • Reducing waist size and flattening the abdominal wall
  • Increasing abdominal and pelvic floor muscle tone
  • Prevention and treatment of incontinence, prolapse and hernias
  • Increasing explosive strength and anaerobic capacity
  • Raising metabolism
  • Improving sexual function
  • Improving posture (especially posterior chain)
  • Activating the sympathetic nervous system – switching off your fight or flight stress response and allowing the rest and relaxation response necessary for good general health to take over

  • Tuesdays
  • 9:30-10:30am – Mums and babies/toddlers – Jabberwocky
  • 11-2pm – spaces for 1-2-1


  • Wednesdays
  • 1-2-1 – 9-10am – space full for next 5 weeks
  • 1-2-1 – 11am-12pm – space full
  • 1-2-1 – 1.30-2.30pm – space full once a month
  • 7-8pm – Group class at West Barns Community Hall


  • Thursdays
  • some opportunity for local 1-2-1 – space full for next three weeks


  • Fridays
  • 10-11am – St. Mark’s – Portobello – group class


I will provide an E-letter with hints and tips and an audio that will help you practice at home.

Training options and cost

Hourly 1-2-1  session – £60 – Fuel added for distances further than 10 miles from East Linton

Foundation level – Intensive 6 session re-boot your core course – £340 – fuel added from East Linton

Hour long group class – Cost: £12 per class or £80 for ten classes  (these classes have to be used within a 12 week period).
